Another cash advance store gets robbed

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – A local branch of Advance America, one of the biggest chains in the business was robbed last Wednesday. The suspect, who fled in a Gold Buick is still at large. He is described only as a white male.

The amount of money has not been disclosed. Nearby business owners are worried as this is the second robbery to a cash advance storefront in the area within a 30 day period. Officials urge anyone with information to come forward with tips.

Michigan – Apparently, there are people who need funds but don’t want to apply for their loan like everyone else. Two men held up a Ypsilanti Township cash advance center at gunpoint last Tuesday afternoon. It’s not clear how much money they got away with but police are on the lookout for the hooded and masked robbers. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

East Providence Rhode Island may have no other choice

Think people are the only ones strapped for cash in the current economy? Think again. Rhode Island lawmakers are considering collecting state school dollars early, which is essentially a payday in advance. If they can’t do that, they may have to seek a private loan, which could be very expensive in light of their less than perfect credit rating.

The situation is so serious that if something isn’t done quickly, the city may not be able to make payroll at the end of the month.

They are seeking a $12.6 million advance. Their deficit is $7.2 million. Talk about a lot of debt.
